In Attendance: Natasha DeRivi, Cindy Gold, Kathy Yamato, Allison Tomlinson, Kirti Magudia, Henry Suen & Jim Williams 1) CAA Scholarship– Scholarship process finished on May 31st, results sent to Cal on June 3rd. Winner is Kelly Lester Changes to scholarship rules for 2010: Unless CACNY guarantees funding for an alumni scholarship (normally renewable), there is no guarantee that a student from our district would win a scholarship. Will consider establishing a one-time CACNY scholarship instead. Have an L-fund account with $1492.57 for scholarships that can be used for this purpose. Decision will be made before next scholarship season. Concern that since membership form mentions donations for scholarships, technically we should be registered with the New York State Attorney General. Board discussed that donations collected annually are trivial, so not necessary. 2) Received $500 event stipend from CAA in April 2009 3) Contracts with MJ’s and Pacific Standard are locked for 2009-10 football season 4) Last dining club was Wednesday, July 8th at Favela Cubana 5) Bears send off the Cubs picnic for matriculating Cal students on Aug 1st 6) NY Cares on Oct 17th: Organized by Wai Lin Yip; Group name “UC Berkeley Alumni- NYC Chapter”; $20/person to join group 7) Coaches vs. Cancer Classic at Madison Square Garden Nov 19-20, 2009 features Syracuse, North Carolina, California and Ohio State at Madison Square Garden; CAA will be securing tickets for CACNY, Boston, Philadelphia & DC clubs; We will be in direct contact with the ticket office director to obtain tickets 8) CACNY email issues; Board voted yes to include mentorship program on CACNY email.
