Get in on the ground floor with Berkeley Crowdfunding

Great ideas come out of Berkeley. Now and until Oct. 14, you can help turn 10 great new ideas into impactful projects on the campus's crowdfunding site. You choose which projects you want to see take flight and you know exactly where your money is going. Here are some projects you can make real:

  • Building state-of-the-art detection systems to prevent forest fires
  • Designing low-cost training for cancer screening
  • Presenting a piece of Egyptian history to the people
  • Ensuring that no Berkeley student goes hungry

Four Bears join White House Council

Two Berkeley graduates are joining the White House Council of Economic Advisers as members, while two others have been named economists for the panel providing economic analysis and advice to the president. Three have degrees in economics, and one in business administration.

The Berkeley community makes amazing things happen — for Berkeley, at all levels of society, in every field, worldwide. Their actions reflect the excellence of a Cal education and our mission to serve the greater good. To celebrate the transformative, inspiring achievements of our distinguished alumni, students, and faculty, nominate someone for an Achievement Award today. Nominations are due Nov. 6.

U.S. News ranks Berkeley top public

For the 18th straight year, Cal has been named the nation's top public university by U.S. News & World Report, with UCLA and Virginia placing second and third respectively.
