The California Golden Bears (37-21) are heading to the College World Series for the first time since 1992 after sweeping Dallas Baptist in the Santa Clara NCAA Super Regional. As the team prepares to head to Omaha and face top-seeded Virginia on Sunday (June 19), the coach and his players find the right words to describe a magical season.

UC Berkeley astronomer Marc Davis will share with three other astronomers the 2011 Cosmology Prize of The Peter and Patricia Gruber Foundation. The astronomers were honored for computer simulations that convinced the world of the existence of “dark matter.”

Cal-Adapt Web site makes climate change science available to all
